( 2014 November )
Roger Baker - Ground floor Barrett Browning Institute. John Clarke smiling, Margaret Goodwin laughing. And I promise that I picked up the chess pieces scattered around the floor, soon after this photo was taken!

Catherine Lyon - I think the ground floor of the Barrett browning institute is a great place for a youth club or cafe . Can this be considered when the library moves ?

Janet Jones - Good photo Roger, Margaret is always smiling or laughing still when ever you see her, looks like Jackie Ashwin playing Table Tennis in the back ground.?

Karen Beeton - Good god I do look like my mother (Margaret Goodwin - now Foster) when she was younger. Must show my mum next time I see her. And yes she still smiling and laughing.

Roy Clarke - Our dad john clarke loved his chess, I still have the chess set my folks bought me when I was 7. One of my daughters now owns it, she's a terrible cheat. Another great photo Roger.

Sean Clarke - Thanks for posting Roger, really good to see these photo's of our Dad

Lesley 'Jane' Turner - First thing I noticed on this photo was how smart they all look. Jacket's and ties on 👔 . Not like today's youth.. 🙁.

Sean Clarke - Yeh my Dad used to comment on my attire.

John Gurney - who are the two girls playing draughts ?

Roger Baker - John, where were you that night?

John Gurney - Probably at the other end of the table from Malcolm Williams .

Lloyd Meredith - girl with black hair. sideways on Elaine Moss.

Roger Baker - No John, Neville Meredith on the other side. Another photo to come!

John Gurney - Yes Lloyd , certainly looks like Elaine , so that's probably Heather Davies , her big pal ,sitting opposite her ?

Terry Rogers - Roger these photo's bring back memories of people I'd long forgotten or have seen in recent years Nigel Webb I met a few years back he had changed his surname can't remember why, I was racking my brain to remember the name of the guy in the glasses Mike Shakesheff worked in Hereford used to travel on the train with him Margaret Goodwin used to walk to the old swimming pool with her she had two brothers Tommy and Charlie.

John Gurney - Last I heard of Mike was that he lived and worked for British Rail at Shrewsbury . I understand that he attended Peter Judge's funeral recently and also the wake, I couldn't make the latter so I missed him. He and Clarkey were in the same year as myself and Peter. Re Nigel or Banker as we called him then, haven't seen hide nor hair since those times and the last time I saw Maggie was forty odd years ago . It was something to do with selling ( my buying ) peas for the freezer. Stapelow or Munsley I think , can't remember the name of the farm though .

Terry Rogers - Same here John 40 years ago worked at the farm were Maggie lived with her husband installing a pea processing plant like you can't remember where ! saw Nigel in a pub in Powick few years ago.

Roger Baker - I think Nigel was a Barnes at one time? Not seen Mike since he left Ledbury. Was talking to Margaret in Tesco a few weeks ago. No idea what happened to Malcolm Williams. Could do with a where are they now thread!

Karen Beeton - We used to live at Marley Hall, Staplow - happy days selling peas and working on the pea processing plant. And still today my brother Fozzie (Andrew) won't eat the things was put off for life.

Janet Jones - Mike lived in the New Street with his mother she took in laundry for a firm in Ross.

John Gurney - I think Malcolm joined R.A.F. as a career regular , last I heard was that he lived at Bridgenorth . I'm sure it was Neville who told me this . Both Malcolm and Neville were brilliant at table-tennis . Perhaps Lloyd would know of his whereabouts ?

Roger Baker - The bottom floor was the youth club. The next floor was the library. The top floor was again part of the youth club I'm not going to say how long ago though!!

LM - The bottom room was the main youth club. The top floor was used by the youth club as a kitchen. This was in the late Forties early Fifties . Mr CLAY was the Club leader.

John Gurney - Mr CLAY returned to Nottingham, succeeded by Mr BAMFIELD who in turn moved on. The last leader there was Mr HUMPHRIES a teacher at The Boys School
