Bromsberrow Place is just past the village hall. From Ledbury on A417 take a left just before M50 going toward Eastnor, the road divides, left for Eastnor and right for Birtsmorton. Bromsberrow Place is on the Birtsmorton road just past this T-junction ...JG

George Onslow Deane lived at Boyce Court, Dymock and he was the only fellow we know who played cricket for Dymock and also played at county level. He in fact turned out for Hampshire in 1850 or thereabouts, played once, didn't take a wicket and didn't score a run. He probably paid for all the drinks though...JG

Where abouts in Bosbury was the old country inn?...CP

I went to the pub quite often, but I don't know the area that well, but I remember we used to go to it via the Worcester-Hereford Rd, and turn off by Ridgeway Cross ( I think!)...TK

Its about mile an a half outside Bosbury towards Cradley on the right hand side...RB

That area was known as the old country it was half way to Cradley from Bosbury just passed the settlements, old lady WAECHER needed a cart horse she was a big old girl , her title was German, and Dad reckoned she squashed the poor old gerry to death lol...KC

Thanks Ken lovely story...CP

And she also once kept a pet fox in the house...AH

Wonder what happened to those xmas lights...SJ

I've always preferred them to the lights we have now. The multicolours were so much more festive than the single white bulbs, and the flashing that some of the modern lights do makes them look like the lights on emergency service vehicles!...CP

Must have been a mild winter this year...CE

Must be 90's as there is a X Reg Land rover Discovery parked on the side of the road...PM

Paula is right. There is also a V reg car parked on the left hand side of the first picture, so that would put the photos at Boxing Day 1999 at the very earliest. It could even be early 2000s because I don't think the classic multicoloured Christmas lights and hanging decorations were done away with until 2001 or 2002. I'm also trying to remember when Woolworths in Ledbury was rebranded to Woolworths Local as can also be seen in the first picture. Woolies and the classic Christmas lights - both things that I really miss!...CP

Don't much like fox hunting ( fell out with dear old dad many times over it ) but tradition is what it is, and even an anti blood sports person like me can see the value of this lasting for many more years...KC

Not many spectators on this photo but last Boxing day we went and the streets were packed...CE

Remember those swinging Santas stretching over the road!...CE

I used to love those decorations the penguins were my favourite. Still don't like the hunt though xxx...MM

I love the sight of them as it's so traditional but I don't like the cruelty involved. If you need to kill a fox, shoot him, not torture him. Lived in the country and we always had chickens. Mr Foxy doesn't just take 1, he'll kill the whole lot & leave them there...CE

I agree definitely! By all means defend livestock but don't be cruel xxx...MM

Well we've sorted hunting issues, what's next on the agenda? Lol xx...CE

Classic Ledbury Christmas lights and decorations were so much better than the new ones!...CP

No expense spared! But I agree, much more tasteful than the blue lights. Look like emergency services...CE
