We are still researching the date for the start of the Carnival the earliest photos we have is late 1920's early 30s.
The carnival ceased in 1956 but the Flower and Produce show continued. These are shown under the Fetes / Shows category.
On the 25th August 1975 the Carnival started up again.

1996 - 50 years on they did it all again.

They all had a wonderful time that day. To think they were all here 50 years on to celebrate. Jo you will remember what they were all like so excited...JJ

Taken at the top of New Street 'The Moonlight Flit'. Original small black and white photo was from Sally GRIFFITHS ( King ).
The photo shows her nan (next to the unknown man) Phylis KING who lived in New Street during the war before moving to Much Marcle and was mum to her dad Robin KING. The lady on the left is Phylis's friend Kathleen HYETT
