Skew Bridge

The famous "Skew" bridge under construction on the Hereford Road completed in the same year as the viaduct 1861. Quoted in some books as being the finest of its type in the country. The embankment that formed the Gloucester line between here and Orchard Lane was built up using soil from the Ledbury tunnel. So when you walk along the town trail you are walking on soil that was under Bradlow and cut throat lane 160 odd years ago. Express House ( now demolished ) is visible to the right of the bridge.
