1897
June 21 The Queen's Diamond Jubilee was celebrated with much rejoicing in Ledbury.

The Volunteers fired a fue de joie on Dog Hill, at 8 am; at 11 there was a procession of all the public bodies in the town, accompanied by all the school children, being headed by the Worcester Excelsior Band.

At the Market Place the National Anthem was sung, and the children sang "God bless the Prince of Wales"

After cheers had been given for the Queen the procession wended its way to the Pound Meadow where a long programme of athletic Sports was carried out.

At one o’clock there was a dinner of hot roast beef, vegetables and plum puddings for old folks over 60, in the Mission Hall, and all the children sat down to tea in the afternoon around tables erected in High street.

In the evening there was a monster bonfire on Bradlow Knoll.

All the streets were gaily decorated, and prizes were given for the best three, viz.: The Capital and Counties, 30/-; D & M. BADCOCK, 20/-: Messrs. MAYO & Co., 10/-.

July 25 The First Annual Horse Show and Floral Fete was held in the Pound Meadows, and was a huge success.

August 22 Ledbury Horse Show and Military Tournament in the Pound Meadows.

September 15 A series of "push-ball“ matches were played on the Pound Meadow in aid of the local branch of the British Legion. Six local teams competed, and eventually the “Carpenters“ proved victorious on points.

1929
August 5 Bank Holiday. British Legion fete and flower show held in the Pound Meadow. A profit of £64 18s. 10d. was the result of this successful show.

1930
August 4 The annual fete and sports of the Ledbury British Legion, held on the Pound Meadow, proved a most successful Bank Holiday fixture, and attracted a crowd of over 2,000 visitors.

1931
August 3 The annual sport, fete and flower show, organised by the Ledbury British Legion, which was built on Pound Meadow, was favoured with fine weather and proved a most successful event, a crowd of upwards of 2000 attending the show. In the evening a fancy dress ball was held at the Royal Hall, at which there was a large attendance.
